Dress Code and Uniform Requirements – Female

Hair

  • All levels: pulled back into a ballet bun, no bangs.

Attire

  • Pre-Primary: Pink leotard, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes (full sole).
  • Primary: Pink leotard, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes (full sole).
    • All students preparing for Primary RAD exams should have a cap-sleeve pink bodysuit with matching waist elastic and a semi-sheer gathered skirt that is slightly below the mid-thigh in length.
  • Grades 1 to 8: Navy blue leotard with matching waist elastic, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes (full sole).
    • All students preparing for graded RAD exams are also required to have character shoes (Grades 1 and 2 with a low heel; Grades 3+ with a 1 ¼” Cuban heel) and a character skirt.  The studio will be doing a bulk character skirt order, contact the desk if you would like more information.
  • Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2: Black leotard (RAD Recommends styles: Mondor leotard #1633, #1645, 1613), pink ballet tights, soft block ballet shoes (note: soft block ballet slippers can be purchased through the desk for $40, please try on the sample pairs and record your size early as we will be placing an order mid-september).
    • All students preparing for RAD majors examinations are required to have pointe shoes.
Hair

  • All levels: Hair is expected to be off the face in a bun or ponytail with no bangs.
  • Students preparing for their ADAPT exams should have their hair in a bun.

Attire

  • Junior 1 – Advanced: Black Leotard, black tights, black oxford tap shoes (if possible, no patent tap shoes because of their sound quality).
  • Adult/Teen Classes: fitted recreational attire, (if wearing shorts, tights must be worn under shorts), tap shoes.

  • All levels: Fitted recreational attire (note: tights must be worn under all shorts), hip hop shoes or jazz shoes (outdoor footwear is not permitted).  Jeans are not permitted, if a dancer shows up in jeans, she will not be permitted entry into class.

  • Any type of comfortable attire, clean wide heel (no stilettos please) dress shoes.  Please note outdoor footwear is not permitted in the studios.

  • Adult/Teen Classes: Fitted T-shirt, tank top or leotard, tights (must be worn under all forms of shorts), shorts or jazz pants, black jazz shoes.
